An exercise in what good coordination and cooperation can achieve in street works.
The London Borough of Enfield's northbound carriageway of Meridian Way (A1055) was closed from 16th September to 20th October 2024 for a significant project by Cadent Gas, who installed a 400-metre intermediate-pressure gas main. This project aimed to provide service to the new Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) under construction for the North London Waste Authority (NLWA).
Given Meridian Way's importance as a major artery linking the M25 and A406, meticulous planning and cooperation between Cadent Gas, Transport for London, and Enfield's Street Works Team were crucial to minimize disruption, protect local roads, and complete the project within the shortest time possible.
